About Distracted Wedding

Dear Internets,

My fiancé Achilles and I are getting married in late March 2010. I have another blog, DistractibleJane, where I mostly post pictures of cupcakes and my dog and cute videos of baby horses. I told the stories of how Achilles and I met and got engaged over there.

If you're wondering what I'm like, I'm a geeky native Austinite engaged to another (not quite as geeky) native Austinite. I enjoy navel gazing, traveling to random foreign countries, Veronica Mars, Old 97's, procrastinating, French Surrealist poetry, attempting to get organized, betta fish, triathlons/running, cubicle decor, personal finance, knitting, and making cupcakes. Oh, and long walks on the beach.

As for Achilles, he's smart, sweet, funny, and incredibly patient. (After all, he puts up with me, and even loves me and stuff.) He enjoys homebrewing, Seinfeld, procrastinating, lawyering, CrossFit, and listening to me make up silly songs about our dog, Bailey.

Achilles and I really want to have a fun wedding on a fairly small budget. Achilles really wants good food and beer. I really want our wedding to be friendly to kids and people who have a hard time sitting still (this includes myself!). We both want to avoid doing things just because they're "tradition"; we really want the day to be meaningful to us and our families.

Hopefully this blog will help us document the ups and downs of the wedding planning process. Feel free to give us advice - I can't promise that we'll always follow it, but we'll definitely always listen.

Hello Wed

Hi Internets, it's me, Jane.

My good blog friend Elizabeth suggested that I create a wedding planning blog. After weighing the pros and cons, I decided she was right. After all, the pros outweighed the cons:



Who am I kidding? I thought it sounded like a good idea and went with it. I made up the pros and cons list after the fact.
